Have you ever felt like you're just pretending to be someone you're not? Like you're faking your way through life, and someone's going to expose you as a fraud? If so, you're not alone.
How are you doing my love? I missed you 🥹💘. Let’s talk about Imposter Syndrome and self doubt.
What is imposter syndrome? Imposter syndrome is a psychological pattern where you doubt your accomplishments and feel like you don't deserve your success. It's that ugly nagging voice in your head that says, "You're not good enough," or "You're just lucky."
Imposter syndrome can hold you back from pursuing your dreams and passions, and it's time to break free!
I personally have felt this way before when I got an award for best in mathematics in my secondary school; I felt like I was a cheat and that I didn’t deserve it. But do I really deserve it? Yes, I do. Because I remember putting in a lot of work into mathematics and it has always been my best subject but even at that; I felt like a fraud not until I grew up more and realized I deserved every single thing.
Now , what are the signs of Imposter Syndrome?
• You feel like a fake or fraud.
• You underrate your accomplishments.
• You feel like you don't deserve your success.
• You're afraid of being found out.
See Ehn, many youths struggle with imposter syndrome, and it's holding them back from achieving their goals. You might feel like you're not good enough to pursue your passion, or that you don't deserve to succeed. But here's the thing: my darling you are enough. You Deserve Every Single Good Thing. Remember, your worth and merits are not defined by your accomplishments or your background. You deserve to succeed, to pursue your passion, and to live a fulfilling life.
Before I bore you with this long educative content, how do you overcome imposter syndrome?
1. Acknowledge your feelings: Recognize that your feelings are normal and valid.
2. Reframe your thinking: Challenge negative self-talk and replace it with positive affirmations.
3. Focus on your strengths: Celebrate your accomplishments and remind yourself of your strengths.
4. Seek support: Talk to trusted friends, family, or a therapist about your feelings.
5. Practice self-care: Take care of your physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
Imposter syndrome is a common struggle, but it's not a definition of your worth. You are capable, deserving, and strong. Don't let imposter syndrome hold you back from pursuing your passion and living your best life.
Remember, you deserve every single good thing that comes your way. Believe in yourself, and never let anyone, including yourself, make you feel otherwise. I love you 💘.
